Fujifilm X-T30

The Fujifilm X-T30's dial-based controls are appealing to enthusiasts and pros, and it backs them up with speedy, accurate focus, 4K video, and a strong lens library.

Proven 26MP APS-C image sensor. Quick, accurate autofocus. Up to 30fps Raw capture. EVF and built-in flash. Tilting touch LCD. Tactile controls. 4K video. Wi-Fi.

Body isn't weather-sealed. Restricted maximum video clip length. No in-body stabilization. Small capture buffer. Memory card slot limited to UHS-I speed.

Bottom Line: The Fujifilm X-T30's dial-based controls are appealing to enthusiasts and pros, and it backs them up with speedy, accurate focus, 4K video, and a strong lens library.

Fujifilm X-T30

Editor's notes: the Fujifilm X-T30 will release on March 20, 2019. For this article, Fuji loaned us a preproduction body with preproduction firmware. We'll update this hands-on first look to a full review after we've used a production body. Also, if...

Fujifilm X-T30 review

Honey, I shrunk the X-T3

Excellent image quality ; Crispy 4K video ; Compact body ; Lots of controls to hand

Tiny rear buttons ; Not much for larger hands to grip

Versatile, compact, powerful, stylish and not insanely expensive – Fuji’s all-rounder really is a little wonder

Fujifilm X-T30 initial review: The retro king is back and better than ever

Small, light, and with great image quality: the X-T30 mirrorless camera adds a joystick control and enhances autofocus over its X-T20 predecessor.

Great image quality from this APS-C sensor ; Autofocus is fast and capable for moving/eye-tracked subjects ; Many of the X-T3's features for less cash (and some it betters - until April 2019 update)

Smaller autofocus point size can struggle ; Not as low-light sensitive as some competitors ; Eye AF should be easier to disengage ; Not weather-sealed ; USB charging only (no charging cradle in box)

In the face of so much full-frame camera chatter the latest mid-level Fuji camera has a lot of weight on its shoulders. But it needn't worry: if you're looking for something that's stylish and capable then the X-T30 is with little compare in 2019,...

Hands on: Fujifilm X-T30 review

Big features inside a tiny shell

Strong feature set ; Tiny and light body ; Rugged build and handsome design ; AF appears to work well

LCD is less flexible than others ; Viewfinder magnification is only 0.62x ; Grip is a little small ; No sensor-based image stablization

With so much of the X-T3 squeezed inside a smaller, lighter and more affordable body, the X-T30 looks a strong contender in the mid-range mirrorless market. With so much focus from other corners on full-frame systems, the X-T30 also has fewer direct...

Fujifilm X-T30 review: Beautiful, powerful and everything you need in a travel CSC

Pitching itself as an “X-T3 Lite”, the X-T30 distils almost everything from its big brother into a smaller, lighter and cheaper body

Gorgeous, retro body ; Tilting, touch-sensitive screen ; 4K video

Single card slot ; Limited buffer for action ; Irritating Q button placement

It’s also something to consider if you’re trying to choose between the X-T30 and the more expensive X-T3. Consider what’s important to you: for your extra cash, the X-T3 gives you an additional memory card slot, more body controls, a sideways tilting...

Fujifilm X-T30 Review

Fujifilm have once again hit a home run with the launch of the X-T30. As the successor to their best-selling camera ever, the X-T20, this new version has a lot to live up to, but thankfully there's lots to like and little to complain about, something...

Fujifilm X-T30 Review

Packing in the same 26MP X-Trans sensor, image processor and autofocus system as the X-T3, as well as similar high-res video capabilities, the smaller, lighter Fuji X-T30 is surprisingly robust in capabilities and features. Image quality is excellent,...

Same great image quality as the X-T3; Excellent high ISO performance for an APS-C camera; Improved hybrid AF system with full image area coverage; Fast AF speeds; 4K video up to 30p; Compact design; Great value.

Slightly higher noise levels than predecessor; No in-body image stabilization; Single card slot; No dedicated headphone jack; No weather sealing.

Fujifilm X-T30 review: A highly competitive ILC camera

At just S$1,399, Fujifilm's latest mid-range camera, the X-T30, is a highly competitive interchangeable lens system camera!

Fast, accurate autofocus;High continuous capture rate with Sports Finder mode;Good value for money

Smaller buffer is noticeable when pushing camera's limits;Q-button isn't ideally placed;Only takes the slower UHS-1 SD cards
